Champion Chinese learners,
Develop future leaders
Our aim is to raise the currency of speaking Chinese as a second language, encourage the study of Chinese and Chinese Cultures and promote opportunities for qualified speakers of Chinese as a second language.
We raise awareness about the value of speaking Chinese as a second language and the vital role these individuals play in building positive cross-cultural connections between Greater China and the rest of the world.
Advocacy

Raise the Currency of Second Language Speakers
There is increasing recognition of the value that proficient speakers of Chinese as a second language bring to society.
We lead research into understanding the opportunities and challenges for speakers of Chinese as a second language.
With generous support from UCCL and written by our members, we have produced a series of reports on Employability. The lastest report (published in 2021), is available to download below:
If you would like to support this ongoing research or like a copy of the report, please get in touch via our Contact Us page.
Learning

Encourage the Study of Chinese and Chinese Cultures.
The Ambassador Programme was launched in 2019 in partnership with the British Council and the Mandarin Excellence Programme to raise awareness in UK schools about learning Chinese and opportunities for second language speakers.
Passionate about the relevance of Chinese in the work place, members visit schools to advocate Chinese as an exciting and important language for the future.
If you would like to get involved or would like to arrange for an Ambassador to visit your school, please get in touch via our Contact Us page.
Opportunities

Promote Professional and Language Development Opportunities
We provide access to a wide range of resources related to potential career paths available to members including working in China, teaching Chinese in the UK, Translation & Interpreting and Academia. We can also recommend a number of ways for members to maintain good proficiency levels and opportunities for ongoing language study. For more information, please get in touch via our Contact Us page.
